Music for a desert island

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and could bring the catalog of ONE band or artist, who would it be?

I’d choose Led Zeppelin. Here are my reasons:

1. Huge catalog! For one thing Led Zeppelin has such a big back catalog, I’d have a lot of music to listen to. That’s a definite bonus. I certainly wouldn’t choose a band that had only one or two albums. That would get boring really fast.

2. Wide variety. Led Zeppelin has hard rock, blues, power ballads, country-style rock, acoustic, middle-eastern flavored rock, and just about everything else. I wouldn’t get sick of listening to the same thing all the time.

3. Best rhythm section in rock and roll. John Bonham and John Paul Jones are the best. Period. I never get tired of listening to John Bonham drum. I could probably make some drums on my island and drum along!

Who would you choose and why?

My favorite Zeppelin tune:

Something slower and acoustic:

A little blues:

And, of course, the ultimate power ballad:
